| Q: |
My
projector powers up and the menu works, but I do not have any image. |
| A: |
First make sure the right
source is selected. Second, if your projector has the capability, make
sure the RGB source is set to Standard and not to any of the custom
settings.
If the RGB is set to custom change it back
to standard by pressing the Adjust +/- until it reads Standard. Press the
Enter button or trigger on the remote control to make the changes.
If the image is still shifted over or
blank, try turning off the local display or your laptop. To do this most
laptops have a function key with "LCD/Monitor" or a picture of a
monitor above it. There will also be a "FN" Key. Hold down the
"FN" and press that function key momentarily. You may do this
repeatedly to toggle through the different options on the laptop. (I.E.
LCD On/Output Off, LCD Off/Output On)
If the laptop still displays
nothing and the monitor output works make sure you are not running the
computer at a refresh rate that may be too high for the projector, but not
too high for your local monitor. The projectors specifications are listed
in the user’s manual. To avoid complications use the INF file in Windows
95/98 to let your computer know the limits of your projector. |

| Q: |
The
image looks noisy or of poor quality. |
| A: |
The best picture is obtained
from running you computer source at the same resolution as the projector.
For example, if you have an SVGA (800X600) projector (native resolution)
the computer should be run at 800X600. It can be run higher (I.E 1024X768)
but it will have to compress the image and it will lose some detail. |

My
image flashes in and out and/or it is flagging at the top.

You may be running too long of
a cable and need a distribution amp to boost the signal to the projector.
Video can be sent via S-video cable without a distribution amp about 100
feet at the most using good quality shielded cable. RGB cable can be sent
without a distribution amp about 25-30 feet using an HD15 pin cable. If
you use shielded coaxial 5-wire cable it can be run up to 60 feet without
any problems. |
|
| Q: |
How
long of a cable can we run? |

Signal cable (VGA) can be sent 20-25 feet without a distribution
amplifier. |
|
| Q: |
Which
signal cable should be used with what projector? |
| A: |
Any 15-pin to 15-pin VGA cable
can be used with the MT & LT series projectors. |
|
| Q: |
During
my presentation, the projector will suddenly blank out then zoom in on the
image. |
| A: |
Turn off the Auto Mode in the
Image Adj. Menu of the projector or don’t use black borders in your
presentations. |
|
| Q: |
My
projector powers off by itself after 5 minutes. |
| A: |
The Power off feature is turned
on. This will power off the projector if no signal is applied for 5 min.
to prevent wasting the lamp life. If you do not want this to happen simply
turn off this feature. |
|
| Q: |
Can
I use both S-video and video at the same time and switch between them? |
| A: |
Yes. If your projector has both
of these input types (Video & S-Video) both inputs can be connected at
the same time and you can use the remote or the menu to switch between
them. |
|
| Q: |
My
image is bigger on one side than the other or the image is not square. |
| A: |
All LCD Projectors will project
a square image. If the image is not square the problem will be in the
angle the projector is aimed at the screen. Either pointed too high
causing a keystone effect or side to side causing the image to be larger
on one side than the other. If your projector has a keystone
correction feature, this allows for instances where the projector must be
at an awkward angle. Use this feature to properly align your image. |
